西湖記十月十六日

　　昨夜散席後，又與適之去亞東書局，小坐，有人上樓，穿臘黃西服，條子絨線背心，行路甚捷，帽沿下卷——頗似捕房「三等偵探」，適之起立為介紹，則仲甫也。彼坐我對面，我視其貌，發甚高，幾在頂中，前額似斜坡，尤異者則其鼻樑之峻直，岐如眉脊，線畫分明，若近代表現派仿非洲藝術所雕銅像，異相也。

　　與適之約各翻曼殊斐兒作品若干篇，並邀西瀅合作，由泰東書局出版，適之冀可售五千。

　　讀E.Dowden《勃朗寧傳》，我最愛其夫婦戀史之高潔，白萊德長羅勃德六歲，其通信中有語至駭至複至蠢至有味：——

　　「I Never thought of being happy through you or by you or in you，even your good was all my idea of good and is.」

　　「Let me be too near to be seen…once I used to be uneasy，and to think that I ought to make you see me.But Love is better than Sight.」

　　「I Love your Love too much.And that is the worst fault，Mybeloved，I can ever find in my love of you.」

　　談明宣——她是撫堂先生的小女兒，今年九歲，頗明慧可愛，我抱置膝上，誦詩娛之。
